How to Go to Heaven

According to the Word of God

It is very simple to be saved and takes only a minute to explain. Please let me show you how to get to Heaven from the Bible, God’s Word…

1. Man is a sinner.

* Isaiah 53:6, “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”

* John 3:3, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

* Romans 3:10, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.”

* Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

2. There is a price on our sin―eternal death in Hell.

* Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Continue reading

Those Nasty Tantrums

Ten Ways To Tame a Tantrum

Tantrums will come; ohhh they will come. How we handle them is very important to our child’s developement. We must always remain in control of the situation.Don’t allow your child to cause you to have a melt down.Stay calm and cool. These ten suggestions will help you to  tame your child’s tantrum.

1. Ignore your child: I have found ignoring the tantrum works quite well. This can seem somewhat not compassionate but give it a try.You may be surprised.

2. Give your child some space: Your child may be trying to do something on their own.Maybe he want’s to solve the issue himself.A little space to do that may be what he needs. He may need to be left alone to get the anger out himself.

3. Create a diversion: You could try to get your child’s attention on something else.Changing the subject to something fun usually works wonders.I have found this to be very successful. Continue reading

Can I clean my toddler’s ears with a cotton swab?

How do I get the wax out?

Expert Answers

Jo Ann Rohyans, pediatrician

Never insert a cotton swab or anything else into your toddler’s ear canal; you could easily puncture the eardrum that way. Earwax (cerumem) is nature’s protection for the ear canal, and there’s usually no reason to try to get it out of your child’s ears.

If you’re concerned about a buildup of earwax, ask your toddler’s doctor about it. If there’s so much wax that the doctor can’t see the eardrum (which she’ll need to do when checking for an ear infection), she’ll remove it. Otherwise, it will come out on its own eventually, and sticking a cotton swab in there is likely to push it in farther.

Instead, simply clean the outer part of your toddler’s ears with a cotton swab moistened with oil or peroxide, or a washcloth moistened with warm water.

My Favorate Cassava Cake

I love this cassava cake. I found a very simple cassava cake recipe that’s easy to prepare and make. Cassava cake is a Filipino dessert usually present in most  Filipino gatherings. I have made this for many special occasions. It is very delicious and easy to make. It made my American husband very happy so I’d like to share it.

Cassava Cake Recipe

1 pkg-frozen cassava or fresh grated
1/4 cup-sugar
1/2 tsp-vanilla
1/2 can-coconut milk
2 oz.-margarine
1/2 can-condensed milk
grated cheese
________________________________________

Mix sugar and margarine until smooth. Then, add the cassava and coconut milk. Add vanilla and stir. Bake for 30 minutes at 400 degrees.

Pour the condensed milk on top of the cassava cake and sprinkle the grated cheese on top. Place in the oven and brown the topping. Serve while hot.

Hello Philippine World!

Me and my husband in Ozamiz

This is my first time blogging. I am a simple Filipina from Ozamiz now living in USA.I have a wonderful husband and a beautiful 21 month old daughter. What can I say about my  life over the last thirty-some years?

Let me first talk about life in the mountains of Barangay Malinao. I was born on June 12, 1974, the seventh of ten children to my parents. Living in the mountain is very different from the city. Living off the land was the only way to survive. There is no electricity or running water. That means no TV. But that was fine for me.

Actually, I’m just learning how to blog and my husband is the one to do this so far. He is teaching me so I can do it on my own eventually. Anyway, it is about time for me to take over, so here goes…

When I lived in the mountain with my parents and four brothers and five sisters it was not easy. Life in the mountain is very hard, but we did okay. Since we had no electricity, my parents used a battery for the flashlight and the radio so we could hear news and music. There was no running water in the house. My parents got water from Barangay so that we have water to use for drink and to cook for food also cleaning and washing clothes.

When my eldest sister finished college,  she went to Manila to work  so that she could help my parents with finances ‘coz raising ten children was not easy, but I’m so proud. More later….
